Enjoying a refreshing glass of homemade horchata is never a bad time. With 5 simple ingredients prepare a drink, sweet, with a soft and refreshing texture, that will delight for everyone in the house.
Ingredients
- Grain rice
- Cinnamon
- Hot water
- Sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Milk
- Ice cubes to serve
- Water, to soak the rice to soften and also to add to the final drink.
Preparation

Step 1
Combine the rice and cinnamon stick with 4 cups of water in a blender. -
Step 2
Blend until the rice is coarsely ground.

Pour the mix into a large container and let the beans soak for at least 4 hours at room temperature. You can also soak overnight and prepare the next day.

Strain into a container using a fine mesh strainer. Add evaporated and condensed milk.

Add the remaining water, sugar, and vanilla. Stir until the sugar dissolves, you can refrigerate until completely cool if you like.

Stir the horchata before serving, and decorate with a cinnamon stick or cinnamon powder. Strawberries are optional.
